CLAY - Sculpture and Vessels
Mel Bolen, Humboldt - Living and working in a converted church outside Humboldt, Mel is a vessel sculptor. He manipulates clay into objects that reference ancient Etruscan ceramics, yet evoke a thoroughly modernist bent. In addition to form, Mel gives equal attention to surface treatment, sculpting into the sides and finishing with salt-firing.
Gail Carlson, Prince Albert - Working from a fascination with archaeology, Gail creates sculpted figures she hopes will cause future archaeologists to create stories and wonder at the work of this artist from the 21st century.
Donovan Chester, Regina - Well known in Regina for both his Raku and decorative earthenware, Don is also an accomplished painter. A teacher of many of Saskatchewan's potters, he tells his students, "If you're going to make a mug, the first thing you do is make it beautiful; the second thing you do is make it functional."
Cara Gay Driscoll, Regina -One of the few artists who still practices the ancient hand-coiling technique, Cara produces incredibly intricate and unique vessels.
Christine Fraser, Regina - A potter for over 25 years, she works with form and colour on fine Porcelain surfaces. Her work is both decorative and functional.

Melody Kozmeniuk, Danbury -
Puck Janes, Saskatoon -Using a palette of unusual glazes, Puck decorates hand built clay prairie landscape wall tiles. She aims to reflect the many aspects of the prairie: rough like the earth, glassy like the sloughs, full of subtle and intense colour.
Jeannette Lussier, Martensville - Using her background in painting, Jeannette uses colour sublimation which uses high heat and pressure, to impose her images onto ceramic tiles. The result is a combination of traditional fine art and contemporary presentation.
Jack Sures, Regina - Through the University of Regina, Jack has helped to shape more than two generations of Saskatchewan potters. His porcelain work is some of the finest to be found anywhere in North America.
Ted Uchacz, Saskatoon - Working with both metal and clay, this Saskatoon based sculptor explores various subject matter in his work. His clay work is hand built, utilizing pinch pot, slab building and coil building techniques.
